Wilbur Ave. Update on Water Mainline Replacement Project

Updated: Jan 10, 2023

LADWP UPDATE 10-14-22

Construction Notice: Wilbur Ave Mainline Project

This week, crews began preparing for a new water pipeline project on Wilbur Avenue, from Parthenia St to Roscoe Blvd. In addition to the pipe replacement work on Wilbur, crews will be installing new water mainlines on Geyser, Crebs, Rhea and Capps Avenues, and, Malden, Chase, Community, Schoenborn and Frankfort Streets. The project will improve water system reliability and flexibility.

Crews will work on one manageable section at a time to minimize traffic impacts. When construction occurs at the intersections of Wilbur/Parthenia, Wilbur/Napa and Wilbur/Chase, temporary detours will be necessary. Signs will be posted in advance and flaggers will be present as necessary.

At the end of each work shift, trenches will be covered with steel plates and all lanes will reopen until the next work shift.

Work hours are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday. Occasional Saturday work may be necessary, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. The project is estimated to be completed in Fall 2023.
